High standards set the tone. AYA begins with pre-K and goes through eighth grade – just 12-15 students per grade. Atlanta
Youth Academy has found that a rigorous, traditional college preparatory course of study boosts our students to enhanced
achievement. AYA draws heavily upon professional friends at Westminster, Lovett and other respected schools for our choice
of programs.
By using the Iowa Test of Basic Skills to assess each student's strengths and weaknesses, our teachers coach each student
to build on his or her strengths while shoring up weaknesses.
By their eighth grade graduation, AYA students are stable and focused beyond their years. They are ready for the most arduous
high school regimen as well as tests of character that challenge all young people moving toward the responsibilities of
adulthood. (See
"Overview" to see schools to which our graduates have gone.)
